Some say that the name gunpowder comes from an English clerk who thought that the tiny rolled up green balls of tea looked like gunpowder. Tea leaves that are selected, are picked based on their size, quality and style. Then they are rolled up into tightly rolled balls. Because of this process, Pinhead Gunpowder tea keeps a lot longer than other types of green tea and has a distinct taste. Pinhead Gunpowder is very famous in places such a Morrocco, where they add sugar and mint to sweeten it up. 
When you make a cup of Pinhead Gunpowder tea, make sure to add a few leaves to the bottom of your cup. You can watch the tea leaves unfurl as the hot water opens them up!
